An Anglican Rosary made from 7 x 5mm olive wood beads, with a laser cut olive wood Celtic Cross, all strung onto gold plated curb chain. The olive wood components are made from the wood from the ancient olive groves in the Holy Land, Bethlehem, and this item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity to validate the origin of the olive wood.
This item comes boxed and with a prayer card.
The Celtic Cross has its roots in a pre-Christian variation of the Solar Cross. Examples of the Celtic Cross date back as far as 5,000 years BC. Its origins are not really known, but it is said to have been an early symbol of the Sun god Taranis.
After the conversion of the Celtic people to Christianity, the Celtic Cross became an emblem of the Celtic Christian Church. Irish legend says that the Cross was introduced to Ireland by St. Columba, so is sometimes referred to as Columba's Cross, or the Ionic Cross, named after his monastery on the Isle of Iona.
