The Anglican Rosary was developed in the United States in the 1980s. The beads total 33, for the 33 years that Christ lived on earth.

After the cross the first bead is the Invitatory bead which invites us to prayer; the four Cruciform beads not only form the Cross, they represent prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance, the four cardinal virtues.

The number four also represents the four corners of the earth, north, south, east, and west, plus earth, water, wind, and fire.

The Seven Weeks beads remind us that there are seven days in the week, and that there are seven seasons in the Church year; Advent; Christmas; Epiphany; Lent; Easter; The Day of Pentecost; and The Season After Pentecost.

The Anglican Rosary does not have specific prayers assigned to each bead, the prayers are a personal choice.
