The oldest discovery of glass beads within the Czech Republic dates from the early bronze age. This is when the whole territory was inhabited by Celts who knew the art and technology of glass making and enamelling. Czech glass has been found in such places as Corinthian excavations from the 11th and 12th centuries, and throughout Italy, and Austria.
