A beautiful Holy Land Olive Wood Prayer Rope which has been finished with a handmade black tassel at one end, and a Jerusalem Cross which has been inscribed with the word Jerusalem. Each prayer bead has been accented with Japanese Toho glass beads.
Ancient Prayer Ropes were mostly made from wool, with either 33, 50 or 100 knots, these have been made with Holy Land Olive Wood beads to the same count.
This Prayer Rope can be used to pray The Jesus Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ Son of God,
Have Mercy on me, a sinner.
or the Paternoster Psalter
This is where The Lord's Prayer (Paternoster) is recited 150 times to match the amount of the Psalms, (also called a Psalter).
This practice was started in Medieval times for those who could not read,
It is now, however, used to keep count of the 'Our Father' prayers.
This Prayer Rope comes boxed, and with a Certificate of Authentication for the Holy Land Olive Wood components, and a prayer card.
